Animation Studio’s Sponsor Reel Baits and Switches Chicago Audience.

CHICAGO, November 19, 2009 – Protokulture kicked-off the esteemed Chicago  Association of Independent Commercial Producers (AICP) event at the Chicago Cultural  Center with the creation of an opening video consisting of a dramatic 3D animation and a notorious Rick Astley “Rickroll” featuring the AICP Show’s sponsors.

The Chicago AICP sponsor reel begins with a curious robot in an industrialized environment  that a heads a fantastic journey thru a detailed landscape. The piece takes a radical turn when it is suddenly interrupted by Rick Astley’s "Never Gonna Give You Up” music video. Building off the cultural phenomenon known as "Rickrolling", the video delivers an new perspective on the ever-popular gag.
